Trip to Portland, OR

Here's a throwback post to September 2015 when my boyfriend Mike and I took a trip to Portland, OR to visit our friends Nikki & Kyle. There were a lot of things we had on our travel agenda (hiking, brewery visits, and lots of food) so it was difficult to narrow it down since we were only there for 5 days! Mike and I both love being outdoors so the Multnomah Falls and Oneonta Gorge were definitely places we were looking forward to see. Both spots were simply beautiful. Since Nikki and Kyle were sick that day we didn't get to hike for too long, but that's okay, now we have an excuse to visit again! Voodoo Doughnuts was also a place we NEEDED to go to. I'm not a huge doughnut fan but oh my god, they were damn delicious (I still think about them today!) And as for the breweries, well let's just say Portland has some incredible beers. We stopped at 8 different breweries (maybe a little more than 8...who knows, I lost count!) and they were all amazing. I think I drank my weight in beer!

I loved everything about that city and can't wait to visit again, but until then, stay weird Portland!

APOLLO's nursery!

With just under 5 weeks left for this little prince's arrival, we are so excited to have his room all finished and ready for him! We decided to keep it clean with neutral colors, this way we can easily change themes as he grows. My husband is obsessed with the Apollo light up sign from Michael's craft stores behind his crib and my favorite piece is his crown and scroll wall art from Restoration Hardware (thanks to his Titi Blaine). We are going to be adding more photos on the walls of his aunts and uncles as well as family friends, and possibly adding a cushion to the rocking chair so it's more comfortable for me when I sit to nurse or read to him. All in all it's exactly how I pictured it to be and I hope Apollo loves it as much as we do!

Weekend getaway!

So the day after Christmas, Elissa was supposed to catch her bus back to Philadelphia, but naturally she missed it! (needs to work on her timing) She of course begged me to drive her the 2.5 hours back to her apartment and with it being the holidays, I couldn't say no. Rather than make it a quick drop off I called our cousin Kate and asked her to go over night with me. By doing so, we made this a fun weekend trip and I couldn't have asked for a better way to finish off the holidays! We shopped, went for dinner, watched movies, and then had delicious breakfast the next morning. I'm thinking of doing this once a month for a little R & R so I can try and keep my sanity. Of course come February, baby Apollo will be attending, and that'll make it even better than before!
